Show November 29, 1926 MEMORANDUM FOR SECRETARY FINNEY In reply to your inquiry as to whether certain public lands in Utah may be restored to entry, I beg to advise you as follows: The lands referred to are located in Townships 35, 37 and 38 South, Range 24 East, S. L. M., Utah, and were withdrawn from settlement, entry, or any form of disposal, by Departmental Order dated August 28, 1923, for the purpose of providing allotments to members of the Polk Band of Ute Indians. The records of this Office show that the allotment work in the townships named were completed in June, 1924, and all necessary applications have been filed. For this reason I believe the order of withdrawal should be revoked and suitable recommendation to that effect will be prepared and submitted for Departmental consideration. Commissioner |
