F: Did they used to charge money to go across? D: I guess. That's what my grandmother said, twenty-five cents a horse. F: Oh, did she ever use to go across? D: Yes, her and her husband went over there. F: Where were they going at the time? D: Over to Tuba City 'cause her husband had some relatives over there. They go visit them. F: Twenty-five cents a horse. D: You know you always mention about that Willow-Willow Springs? F: Willow Springs? D: Willow-willow, [laughter] That's where the Indians used to.live all the time and on that spring, too. Right on that nose,_on_; this side of that Willow Springs. A Navajo was living there last time I saw. F: Oh, you're related to those Paiutes over there? D: Yes, my father works for a lady to the Paiutes over there. F: Are there very many of those people left over there?. D: Not many; not many people. It's all the same as here. Used to have a lot of people over there just like here and we have quite a lot of Indians here. Here and there in Kanab and Fredonia. They used to live around there. But there isn't any- |
