Show # 1046 Page 45 All right, I understand the students are pretty pressed for time, so we'll just go right along with what I think would be of interest. I want first to welcome you all here. What I thought I would do when I ask each- ah- have a representative from each Legal Services Program here ah- both Indian and non- Indian ah- because ah- because I think all programs here are doing something in the area, ah- introduce yourselves and, maybe, just make a little brief remark or to stress upon some of the things that you're doing and- ah- what opportunities you may have with regard to openings for students I don't know where to start. How about Seattle? John. J: Well, we have several things going, basically we're involved with the Lower Puget Sound Project, and the Fishing Rights Treaty Rights, ah- the U. S. in Washington, we're seeking intervention along with ah-- Native American Rights Fund. Ah we have basically four staff attorneys working in the area. Ah- the rest of the program is just ordinary Legal Services. Ah- in other matters, we're trying to ah- get more water to the ah-- jErom o n e of the power companies. We're-- we sued ah- Federal Services Administration for some land that should have gone to the Indians. Ah-- that's roughly the areas that we're working in |
