Show # 1046 Page 37 training project. The next year's training should include ah- training on Juvenile Law and there's an effort being made to try to develop a type of Indian court reporter system. Ah-- this- although I think this is something that's in the future because of the problem ah- on just the basic ah-fundamentals of handling court. Ah- the other main project is the Research Project, and this is what we're doing- we're doing two things. We're trying to develop a manual of procedures for tribal court judges, the criminal cases. Ah-- a uniform manuel, you know. It's already been discovered that, of course, it's difficult to come up with a uniform code manual or anything else for the various tribes because of their differences in culture, and so on. But basically what we're trying to do is develop a uniform manual where at least we can set out for the judges ah - procedure on how to handle a criminal case, and the first time the defendant comes before the court, so ah-- after assuming that he's convicted to the what other remedies might be available to him. And ah- I think actually it may carry a uniform because the procedure involved especially with the Indian Civil Rights Act, probably it's going to be fairly uniform.
