| Description | Address: 5133 South Heath Ave., Kearns, UT. Southern Baptist affiliate. Founded in 1922 in Salt Lake City as Pilgrim Baptist Church to serve several Black families, the congregation moved twice and changed its name to New Pilgrim Baptist before moving to Taylorsville and then to its present home in Kearns. With that move, according to a Salt Lake Tribune article (Jan. 31, 2021), the name became "The Point Church" and "began consciously creating a more diverse and multiethnic congregation." |
