State of the campus address

Grover Thompson discusses the first six months of his presidency, detailing the issues facing student government at the University of Utah. He details issues with coverage of ASUU from the Daily Utah Chronicle, challenges with the constitution, implementing a day care center, and the formation of a legal services committee. He discusses initiatives with student programming, communicating with the State Legislature, married student housing, tuition increases, and budget oversight. Thompson also discusses homecoming events, service activities, and the problems that out of state students face in attempting to gain Utah residency. Grover Thompson was the first Black student body president at the University of Utah, when he won election as a write-in candidate in 1971.
