Description George Lowe III grew up in Ogden, UT, with his extended family. As a youth, he enjoyed skiing and river running with his family and participated in Ogden High School's debate and ski teams. George attended Harvey Mudd College and then transferred to the University of Utah to study physics and be closer to the mountains for skiing and climbing. George established multiple routes in Little Cottonwood Canyon and Lone Peak Cirque and first winter ascents in Grand Teton National Park and Wind River Range. He became a well-known alpinist and went on multiple expeditions around the world, including the Canadian Rockies, Pakistan (Karakoram), Nepal, European Alps, and Alaska. He worked as a systems engineer for Argosystems and the US government before retiring. George continues to enjoy time spent outside with his family.
