About the Artist Abstract Expressionist whose gestural, intensely colored paintings often incorporated images drawn from popular culture. She was a "second generation" member of the New York School of Abstract Expressionism. A few of her contemporaries were Jackson Pollock, Larry Rivers, Helen Frankenthaler, and Willem de Kooning, Frank O'Hara. Her personal papers are held at Syracuse (N.Y.) University Library. She was briefly married to sculpter and painter Harry Jackson.
About the Art "Pastorale" was selected for inclusion in the Young American Printmakers exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1953
