Hospital at 120 East 4800 South built in 1927

The Murray Clinic Hospital is historically significant for its association with Dr. Herond N. Sheranian, a much celebrated doctor in Murray. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in 1924. As his practice grew he needed a larger base of operations; he purchased the property for the Clinic from the Warenski family in 1927 and hired local architect Lenord C. Neilson to design the building. He had several associates during the early years of his practice - Dr. Norman Olson, Dr. M. L. Bird, Dr. R. B. Roskelley, Dr. Frank H. Weeks, and Dr. A. L. Olson. Sheranian sold the clinic property to the Walker Bank & Trust Co. in 1934. Dr. Francis E. Boucher bought the building in 1942. He had offices in the building since the early 1930s. Dr. John. Leo Ellertson moved his office into the building about the same time. They became the longest users of the building. A beauty shop was installed on the premises in the 1930s; it changed names many times but remained an integral part of the building until the early 1960s. Dr. Boucher sold the building to Dr. Bruce J. Parsons and his wife Thelma in 1961. Dr. Parsons was an optometrist and the building was called the Murray Vision Center until the 1990s when Dr. Parsons retired.
