Description This paper is a journey into how I discovered the word factitious and re-defmed it for my artistic practice. I have broken down the paper into four different chapters that explore and explain this process. "Narrative Is Necessary," the first chapter, discusses the history of my research on narrative and its application in my artistic practice. The second chapter, "Graffiti Is Good," explains how graffiti aesthetics and comic book story telling have become a major influence in my narratives. For the third chapter "Digital Should Be Dirty," I explain why I use digital technology and alternative printing processes to counter the modem aesthetic trends in photography. The final chapter, "Rivers And Glaciers Or A Beginning" sums up the previous chapters and why I created the work in Factitious: Rivers and Glaciers.
