Title Generative music
Date 2014-12
Description This thesis project is the result of months of research and development into processes to create a generative system of chance based music making via software built using MAX/MSP. The goal of this music is to combine chance based algorithms with specific harmonic number patterns to foster an environment where music can grow organically. Two albums of music were released using this process: "Kolob Theorem" and "Generative". Generative is a compilation of some of my favorite improvisations, some solo and some with friends. Kolob Theorem is a setting of a poem cycle by Luke Swenson. Each poem has a unique process and no two copies of the album are the same.
