Experiencing wind energy

Magna was once a very lively city and under went many changes from where it once came from. The original name of Magna was actually Pleasant Green and was established by the Mormon pioneers in the early 1850's. The town later became much larger when mining was started in the Bingham mines just south of town . A mill was created where the copper ore would be process and ground down. Many people from the entire world came to work there and it became one of the most ethnically diverse towns in Utah.Small communities were established such as Ragtown, Japtown, and Snaketown. These towns were the first places of residence in Magna. Ragtown was an area where most of the miners slept either in tents or shanties. Snake town was the entertainment district with bars and saloons and all the night life. The official downtown was not established until the early 1900's. The town was created to be a walkable community. It was a place where miners would be able to walk to and from work. It was a happening place that was named Magna because of its Latin definition, "Superior."
