Title History of the modern dance program at the University of Utah 1968-1989
Date 2010-07
Description In 1968, Margaret Tennant Waterfall completed a thesis that chronicled the history of the Department of Ballet and Modern Dance at the University of Utah from 1906 to 1968. The present thesis is the continuation of her work, written in an effort to continue recording the important events, trends and individuals in the development of the modern dance program at the University of Utah. The time period covered in this thesis has significant boundaries. It begins where Waterfall's thesis ends, with the 1968-69 school year, and ends with the opening of the Alice Sheets Marriott Center for Dance in September 1989. It follows the depart and leaves off as a new era in the history of the modern dance program begins with its move to the new dance building.
