The University of Utah has conducted considerable research on smokeless fuels and other coal products during the past few years, also in cooperation with the United States Bureau of Mines during 1918-1924. Smokeless fuel, oil and gases have been obtained by the processes developed and a large amount ot study has been given thenu The purpose of this thesis is- to make a survey of Utah coals which might be used in these processes. Data have been obtained from which a comparison of gas, oil and smokeless fuel from these coals can be made. This thesis will be of use in estimating the future value of the various Utah coals for the production of smokeless fuels, city gas and oil products. |
