Title Dance theatre of Alwin Nikolais
Date 1905-05-20
Description Alwin Nikolais, the man from Mars, the non-dancer, the "de-humanizer" would have pointed ears, diabolical fingernails and green skin. What else could be expected of the creator of such works as Imago, Stratus and Nimbus, and Noumenon Mobilus? Myriad dance acquaintances, traditionalists, and yes, even pre-traditionalists, with whom I held little in common other than a driving interest in dance, had painted an awe-inspiring picture of Mr. Nikolais.
