Description Some have lumped Multiple Evanescent White Dot Syndrome (MEWDS), Acute Idiopathic Blind Spot Enlargement (AIBSE) with acute macular neuroretinopathy, and pseudo-presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome together with AZOOR (Acute Zonal Occult Outer Retinopathy). These conditions all present with visual loss and many ocular symptoms such as spots, dots, colors and they are seen characteristically in young women. There is often acute blind-spot enlargment , there are ERG findings and visual acuity is usually good. The conditions go away without treatment.
