Description Intracranial aneurysms are acquired lesions that are most commonly located at the branching points of the major arteries coursing through the subarachnoid space at the base of the brain1. Cerebral aneurysms in any location can cause numerous neuro-ophthalmic findings. Advancement in non-invasive imaging and emerging endovascular treatments have contributed to an explosion of large studies on all aspects of cerebral aneurysms over the past 10 years. Detailed guidelines for the management of patients with un-ruptured intracranial aneurysms were recently published by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. This review will highlight specific points relevant to neuro-ophthalmology.
