Subject One-And-A-Half Syndrome, Eight-And-A-Half Syndrome, Internuclear Ophthalmoplegia, Horizontal Gaze Palsy, Ocular Motility
Description One-and-a-half syndrome was first coined by C. Miller Fisher in 1967 to describe a combination of horizontal gaze palsy and internuclear opthalmoplegia caused by a lesion in the median longitudinal fasciculus (MLF) or parapontine reticular formation (PPRF). The constellation of one-and-a-half syndrome plus fascicular cranial nerve VII involvement was referred to as eight-and-ahalf syndrome by Eggenberger in 1998. In this case, we describe a case one-and-a-half syndrome with a delayed onset of cranial nerve VII involvement.
