Description Septo-optic dysplasia (SOD) is a rare and heterogeneous disorder characterized by optic nerve hypoplasia, pituitary hormone abnormalities, and midline brain defects such as agenesis of the septum pellucidum and/or corpus callosum. We describe an unusual case of septo-optic dysplasia that presents with horizontal optic disc cupping, bitemporal hemianopia, and generalized thinning of the circumpapillary retinal nerve fiber layer.
