A metrizamide scan was performed with coronal cuts of the orbit. The orbital cystic mass contained metrizamide!. The scan demonstrated continuity of the cyst with the subarachnoid space. This was consistent with an arachnoid cyst which had prolapsed into the orbit. The differential diagnosis of post traumatic cysts and the literature on orbital CSF fistulas will be discussed. |
