Description A 70-year-old white woman presented to her ophthalmologist with sudden loss of vision OS. His examination revealed visual acuity to be 20/25 OD and NLP OS, and an amaurotic pupil OS. Her sed rate was 34. The patient was thought to have a CRAO and was admitted for a workup which included: medical consult, non-invasive carotid testing, cerebral angiography, and temporal artery biopsy. Other than showing mild atherosclerosis, the results were all negative. She was discharged on aspirin and persantine.
