Subject Big Blind Spot Syndrome; Optic Disc Edema; Peripapillar; Idiopathic Optic Disc Edema; Temporal Paracentral Blind Area; Focal Electroretinography
Description Miller described a monocular "big blind spot syndrome" with idiopathic optic disc edema in young healthy adults. We report six patients with symptomatic blind spot enlargement without disc edema. Most patients described the sudden onset in one eye of a temporal paracentral blind area with flickering lights or diffuse color within the scotoma. Two patients had previous episodes of blind spot enlargement that resolved over several months.
