We studied four family members with the clinical diagnosis of Leber's optic neuropathy (LON). The propositus was a 17- year-old white male with rapidly progressive visual loss. His mother had bilateral optic atrophy of unknown etiology since teenage, retrospectively diagnosed as LON. Two female siblings of the propositus were clinically asymptomatic. |
