Description Krabbe's disease or globoid cell leukodystrophy is and autosomal recessive disease due to a defect in cerebroside B-galactosidase. The most common form of this disease is failure with optic atrophy occurs and most infants die by 13 months of age. Other neurologic symptoms and signs in these babies Include irritability, hyperesthesia, recurrent low grade fevers and progressive muscular hypertonicity and spasticity proceeding to opisthotonic posturing.
