Title Visual Motion Perception Disorders
Creator James A. Sharpe, MD, FRCP(C) (1941-2013)
Subject Multiple Sclerosis; Cerebral Hemispheric Lesions; Parietal-Temporal Lobe Lesions; Visual Motion Perception
Description We employed a procedure for assessing ability of visual pathways to extract two-dimensional shape from motion and thereby read motion defined (MD) letters. MD letters are made visible exclusively by changes in velocity, as opposed to contrast defined (CD) letters, such as Snellen optotypes, which are made visible by changes of luminance.
