Description Paraneoplastic optic neuropathy has been reported with lung carcinoma and incompletely defined autoantibodies. CRMP-5 autoantibody is specific for a newly recognized collapsin response-mediator protein inretina, small-cell carcinomas and neurons. CRMP-5-IgG is a marker of neurological autoimmunity with lung carcinoma or thymoma (Yu et al., Ann Neurol, v. 49, Feb. 2001).
