Creator Jirawuthiworavong, Guy V; Shimazaki, Kaori; Heckenlively, John; Gordon, Lynn K
Subject antiretinal antibodies; autoimmune retinopathy; cancer-associated retinopathy (CAR)
Description Autoantibodies against retina are implicated in immune-mediated vision loss. Antiretinal reactivities are observed in cancer-associated retinopathy, melanoma-associated retinopathy, autoimmune optic neuropathy, and a subset of patients withretinitis pigmentosa. However, the sensitivity and specificity of these antiretinal antibodies in relation to disease pathogenesis is not yet completely established.
