Description Gemzar (Gemcitabine HCl) is a nucleoside analogue that exhibits antitumor activity. It is used in combination chemotherapy for various solid tumors, including lung and nasopharyngeal cancer. It has not been previously described in the published literature in association with optic neuritis, optic neuropathy or neuroretinitis. However, several patients on Gemzar treatment who developed optic neuritis/optic neuropathy were discussed over NANOSNET in early 2003.
