Title Current Management of Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations (AMVS) and Dural Arteriovenous Fistula (DAVF)
Creator Kieran PJ Murphy; Philippe Gailloud
Subject Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformations; AMVS; Dural Arteriovenous Fistulas; Carotid Cavernous Fistulas
Description The incidence and prevalence of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) cannot be precisely established, because of the relative rarity of the disease and the existence of asymptomatic patients. The best available estimate of AVM incidence is based on a single population-based study, and shows an overall detection rate of 1.11 per 100,000 person-years, and a rate of 0.94 per 100,000 person-years for symptomatic lesions.
