Title Visual Motion Processing Impairments in Cognitive Aging and Alzheimer's Disease
Creator Duffy, Charles
Subject Vision; Motion; Perception; Optic Flow; Cortex; Akinetopsia
Description The patterned visual motion in optic flow provides a robust cue about a moving observer's heading direction. We have identified single neurons in monkey extrastriate visual cortex that are selectively responsive to optic flow stimuli. This work led us to hypothesize that navigation depends on posterior cortical processing for the support of optic flow analysis.
