Description History: An 11 year old girl with sudden presentation of pain and proptosis of the right eye. Vision 20/50 right eye, 20/20 left eye. Right relative Afferent Pupillary Defect, limited motion, right eye and tenderness to compression. Anatomy: Orbit. Clinical: Vision 20/50 right eye, 20/20 left eye. Right Afferent Pupillary Defect, limited motion, right eye and tenderness to compression. Disease Diagnosis: Lymphangioma. Neuroimaging: CT scan showing large infiltrating Orbital Tumor posterior to the right globe with marked proptosis of globe with white dot in center of lesion which is a phlenolith (Characteristic of lymphangioma). Coronal view with marked cystic dilation of right orbit (now on right side of scan) under right globe. Ocular Movements: Limited motion in right eye. Pathology: Lymphangioma - Hematoxyln-eosin stain of a typical microscopic appearance of a lymphangioma of the orbit. Presenting Symptom: Sudden presentation of pain and proptosis of the right eye. Treatment: The carbon dioxide Ultrapulse laser was used to vaporize the majority of the tumor following the specimen removal to more completely decompress the orbit.
