Description History: A 65-year-old man who presented with a three month history of blindness in the right eye, complaining of new vision loss in the left eye. He had no headache or eye pain. Anatomy: Optic Nerve; Astrocytes. Clinical: The upper temporal field defect in the left eye. Disease Diagnosis: Malignant Glioma; Malignant Optic Nerve Glioma. Pathology: The malignant astrocytes with indications of active cell division. The malignant astrocytes of the malignant glioma, extending from the Optic Nerve to the chiasma. Presenting Symptom: Blindness in the right eye for three months complaining of vision loss in the left eye. Neurology: Axial CT scan showing an enlargement of the right Optic Nerve extending from the globe to the apex. Etiology: Malignant glioma. Treatment: Lateral orbitotomy.
