Description History: An 8-year-old boy was referred with a left proptosis and discomfort of the left eye. Visual acuity was 20/30 and he had some restriction of upgaze. Anatomy: Orbit; Optic Nerve. Clinical: Visual acuity was 20/30 and he had some restriction of upgaze. Disease Diagnosis: Rhabdomyosarcoma, Embryonal. Ocular Movements: Some restriction of upgaze in left eye. Pathology: The characteristic cells of an embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. Presenting Symptom: left proptosis and discomfort of the left eye; some restriction of upgaze. Neuroimaging: Axial CT scan of a large nasal lesion proptosing the left globe. Coronal view demonstrating the superior nasal location of the lesion corresponding with the downward displacement of the proptosed left eye. The orbit following treatment with no recurrence of the lesion, but enophthalmos remains with slight distortion of the Optic Nerve shadow nasally. Treatment: Local radiotherapy of 4,000 cGy and a triple chemotherapy.
