Description History: A 70-year-old man presenting with left proptosis and blindness in the left eye for over two years. Disease Diagnosis: Meningioma. Neuroimaging: Ultrasonogram of the left orbit with the beam coming from left to right, first seen is the posterior wall of the globe. Axial CT scan of the tumor in the retrobulbar left orbit pushing the eye forward and laterally. Coronal view of the tumor behind the left globe. It is solid and round in appearance and includes the Optic Nerve. The post-operative appearance of the left orbit with the absence of the Optic Nerve, but a slight remnant of the posterior Optic Nerve which is not involved with the tumor. Coronal view of the orbit showing absence of the Optic Nerve in the left orbit. Pathology: The Optic Nerve centrally surrounded by the meningiomatous tumor with typical benign meningoepithelial cells. Presenting Symptom: Left proptosis and blindness in the left eye. Treatment: Removal of tumor.
