Description History: A 46-year-old man who presented with a five week history of proptosis of the right eye accompanied by a moderate discomfort. There was no functional deficit. Anatomy: Optic Nerve; Orbit. Clinical: No functional deficit. Disease Diagnosis: Liposarcoma. Pathology: Microscopic appearance of the liposarcomatous cells characteristic of this irregular tumor. Higher magnification of the liposarcomatous cells indicating the malignant nature of this unusual Orbital Tumor. Presenting Symptom: Proptosis of the right eye accompanied by a moderate discomfort. Ocular Movements: Complete right ptosis as the result of the liposarcoma invading the superior rectus muscle. Neuroimaging: Axial CT scan showing irregular bordered lesion of the right superior orbit with variable internal consistency. Coronal MRI of the right orbit showing a somewhat irregular lesion above the Optic Nerve in the superior posterior right orbit. Treatment: Surgery; Radiation therapy; Removal of right orbit.
