Description History: 47-year-old woman who presented with a 1 to 2 year history of left proptosis with diplopia in the extreme left upward gaze position. There was no visual loss or discomfort. Anatomy: Zygoma; Sphenoid Bone. Clinical: Visual fields of the same patient, the right eye on top, the left eye on bottom essentially normal. Disease Diagnosis: Meningioma. Neuroimaging: The very superior aspect of the orbits on axial scan with the tumor on the left upper orbital tissue and thickening of the posterior zygoma and lateral sphenoid bone. Coronal view of the posterior orbits showing the extensive bony involvement of the lesion with an intraorbital component. The Optic Nerve is slightly displaced nasally. The extensive bony removal of the tissues of the posterior left superior orbit including part of the parietal bone to extend beyond the edges of the tumor. Presenting Symptom: Left proptosis with diplopia in the extreme left upward gaze position. There was no visual loss or discomfort. Treatment: Surgical removal of tumor, and 5,000 rads of radiation therapy to prevent recurrence.
