History A 45-year old male with a 4-week history of right-sided headache and progressive graying of vision OD. Previous history significant for HIV infection and subsequent Dx AIDS due to pneumocystic carinii pneumonia and pulmonary multi-drug resistant tuberculosis.
Pathology Opacification of sphenoid sinus; Giemsa stain-positive for leishmaniasis
Disease/Diagnosis Mucosal leishmaniasis secondary to AIDS
Clinical VA: 20/50-2 OD, 20/20 OS; Color plates: could not see control plate OD, 12/12 OS
Presenting Symptom Right-sided headache; Progressive graying of vision OD
Neuroimaging CT; MRI
Treatment IV antiprotozoal agents
