| Description |
Presenting Symptom: Punctate white dots along retinal arteries. Pathology: Optic disk drusen. Clinical: The patient was a 65-year old female with a blood cholesterol level of 400 mg %. The fundi showed multiple small plaques along all the major retinal arteries. These partially disappeared when the cholesterol level was lowered by diet. The multiple punctate white dots, unassociated with blood vessels in the photograph, probably represent drusen and are not recognized as a manifestation of hypercholesteremia.
