Description In this interview, Beck Miller discusses his educational background and working for the Utah Property Management Associates (UMPA) in several positions. Miller began as a security guard, then secretary, then an industrial lighting technician and now a building engineer with UMPA. Miller discusses being transgender while being a practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christs of Latter-day Saints and how switching from a secretary position to a more blue collar position was beneficial for his gender identity and mental health. Miller discusses his introduction to kayaking as a way to deal with emotional distress and beginning to kayak on the Great Salt Lake. Miller discusses being the first person to kayak the entire Great Salt Lake in a multi-day trip.
