Description
John Martinez discusses his family history in Northern New Mexico and their history of migration to the Colorado area. He talks about his family genealogy, and the tradition in his family to speak proper Spanish. He recounts family traditions around Christmas, as well as how his family suffered in the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. Mr. Martinez graduated from West High, joined the Navy, and worked while he attended the University of Utah. He recounts his work with IBM and discusses his feelings about racism and prejudice.
