Description Notarianni discusses going on a cruise with his wife on Princess Cruise Lines around Cape Horn as the pandemic began to develop in spring of 2020, with the cruise company not offering refunds at the time. He mentions issues at customs and temperature checks. While at sea, he received notification that the cruise line was pausing their operations and was given options for compensation. He recalls being docked at Buenos Aires and getting conflicting information about his flight home. He discusses the quarantine measures and social distancing practices that were taken on the ship from the middle of March to early April, and how fortunate he was that he and his wife had a room with a balcony. Notarianni reads examples of shipboard communications to passengers about the pandemic. In addition, he discusses how his neighbors checked on his house in his absence after the March earthquake in Utah, and how some of his fragile mementos were broken.
