Final Score Tristan Mandur notched the Utes' highest finish on record at the NCAA Championships this week, placing in a tie for 17th overall after shooting 3-over (283) through 72 holes. His 283 was a career-low in a 72-hole tournament, also ranking as the lowest NCAA Championship score on record at Utah. The Mill Bay, British Columbia, native started the tournament strong, tying for fifth overall at the end of the first round, shooting 2-under (68). The junior scored four birdies on the front nine, including two on back-to-back holes at four and five, finishing out the round with consistent play to land in the top-five. Mandur stumbled to begin the front nine in the second round with a double bogey on his second hole of the day, but rallied in the back to grab three birdies. He wrapped up the second round tied for 19th overall, shooting 1-over (141) through 36 holes. Heading into the third round, Mandur needed to finish in the top-nine among individuals not on an advancing team to play in the fourth and final round of stroke play, and he did just that. He notched three birdies and 12 additional holes at par to finish the third round tied for 16th overall through 54 holes with a score of 1-over (211). In the fourth and final round, Mandur shot 2-over for the day (72). He claimed four birdies with nine additional holes at par in the fourth round to earn his top-20 finish. He joins Dustin Pimm (2006) and Kyler Dunkle (2019) as individual qualifiers at Utah since 1990 with Dunkle placing in a tie for 28th overall and Pimm playing through the third round.
