Subject Murray Historic Registry
Description House on Murray Historic Registry built in 1902; originally owned by John Berger, son of Christian Berger. The adobe structure featured high ceilings and a "firespace" or air pocket, that allowed the house to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. Riley Lane was named for John's grandson, Jack Riley (son of Maggie), who lived on it for his entire life. When ASARCO smelter came, Mr. Berger sold the house and property to the Sturm family. They eventually sold it to the Fritz family.
