Senior Grayson Murphy led the Utah track and field team with a third-place finish and a new school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase invitational race on Friday evening at the Stanford Invitational. Murphy recorded a new personal best and lowered her previous school record with a time of 9:51.36. This tops her previous record by two seconds. In the 400-meter dash, senior Alissa Atisme finished in 10th place with a time of 55.49. Finishing behind Atisme was freshman Jackie Martin who crossed the line in 17th place with a personal-best time of 56.57. In the 400-meter hurdles, senior Madison Lanford placed 25th with a time of 64.26 while freshman Ruby Jane Mathewson finished in 26th with a time of 64.46. With this time, Mathewson earned a new personal record. Eliza Hansen finished fourth in the collegiate high jump with a height of 5'5.0" (1.65m). This height is a new personal best for Hansen. |
