Show 356 GOAT’S THORN, OR MILK VETCH. Comprounp Powprr or Tracacantu. (Pulvis Tragacanthe Compositus. L.) of tragacanth, powdered, gum arabic, of each an ounceanda half; ——— double refined sugar, three ounces: Rub them together into a powder. This composition is a mild emollient ; and hence becomesserceable in hectic cases, tickling coughs, strangury, some kinds e flexes, and other disorders proceeding fromathin acristate of the excreted fluids, or an abrasion of the mucus stines ; it is supposed to soften, and give a greater deconsistency to the former, and defend the latter from ated or excoriated by them.
