Description Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing, demonstrators assembled across the United States to protest police brutality against people of color. Salt Lake City experienced both violent and peaceful protests to demonstrate in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. This emergency alert issued via telephone on May 30th imposes a curfew for Salt Lake City in attempts to hinder public protests. The background image on the phone visible in this screenshot is of a protester taking down the American flag at the Washington Monument during the Vietnam War protests, circa 1969.
