Title Pseudotumor Cerebri Secondary to Use of All-Trans Retinoic Acid for Treatment of Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia
Creator Philip Kim, Amanda Henderson
Subject Pseudotumor cerebri, High intracranial pressure/headache
Description Multiple randomized trials have demonstrated that all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) improves the outcome of patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Secondary pseudotumor cerebri has been estimated to occur in 1.7% of overall APL patients treated with ATRA and is more common in children. We present a case of an adult with pseudotumor cerebri secondary to ATRA therapy.
