The Ute men's and women's teams each placed fourth as competitors braved cold, wet and windy conditions. Weber State took men's top honors with 58 points, edging out Brigham Young by four points and Utah State by eight. The Ute men competed in only the distance events, tallying 12 points. Brigham Young ran away with the women's competition with 65 points. Utah State finished second with 46 points, three points ahead of Weber State and 12 in front of Utah. Utah's women were led by a first-place finish from Elisha Kekacs in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.91 seconds. Audrey Kiser also got a first-place finish for the Utes in the shot put with a heave of 12.89 meters. Chantel Goldsberry and Katherina Gallahar placed second (55.45 meters) and third (51.31), respectively in the hammer throw. Mindy Wilder also scored points for the Utes in the javelin, finishing second with a throw of 39.82 meters. Utah got two top-four finishes in the 400 meters with Erianne Allen coming in third (57.66 seconds) and Tracy Hamblin placing fourth (58.66). Teren Jameson led the efforts for the Utah men's team by placing second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:53.51. He was edged out by Weber State's Joel Atwater by 1.29 seconds. |
