Chantel Goldsberry set a new school record in the hammer throw Saturday at the Clarence Robison Invitational in Provo. Her toss of 183 feet, 4.75 inches broke the old record by more than three inches that she set earlier in the season. She placed fourth in the hammer finals. Katherina Gallahar was sixth throwing 174' 10.50". Tracy Hamblin reached the finals in the 400 meters and placed fifth, clocking in at 58.69 seconds. Daisy Freedman (19:34.87) and Jen Osguthorpe (20:01.46) placed sixth and eighth, respectively, in the 5,000 meters. Mindy Wilder placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 140' 1.00". Kristy Slade finished seventh in the long jump (17' 9.75"). Elisha Kekacs broke her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.17. She placed sixth in the finals. Alexandria Nash placed fifth in the triple jump (38' 0.75") which moved her into fifth place on Utah's all-time top performance list. Chris Merkley (3:50.03) and Teren Jameson (3:51.72) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 1,500 meters. Travis Hildebrand was 14th (3:56.30). |
