Erianne Allen and Kristy Slade kicked off Utah's frenzied week of competition on Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays on the Azusa Pacific campus. They competed in the heptathlon which took place over two days. Allen placed 15th with 4,705 points, just nine points off her best performance, and Slade finished 19th with 4,525 points, her best performance ever. Teren Jameson placed second in his heat in the 1,500 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. His time of 3:50.79 was a three second improvement over his previous best time and moves him into fourth place on Utah's all-time top performance list. RESULTS MT. SAC AND POMONA: Katherina Gallahar and Chantel Goldsberry threw the hammer at Mt. SAC and the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational. Gallahar threw 173' 0" at Mt. SAC, and placed 17th at Pomona with a throw of 178' 0". Goldsberry threw 165' 0" at Mt. SAC, and 175' 0" to earn 19th place at Pomona. Mindy Wilder also threw at two different meets. She placed ninth in her heat in the javelin with a throw of 128' 0" at Mt. SAC, and 10th with a throw of 143' 0" at Pomona. Travis Hildebrand placed ninth in his heat in the 5,000 meters at Mt. SAC with a time of 14:28.21. Chris Merkley finished 11th in his heat with at time of 14:08.88. |
